The Johns Hopkins DMT Entity Survey
In the largest study of its kind (n=2,561), the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine mapped the phenomenology of DMT entity encounters.
- Entity Phenotypes: Feminine phenotype (24.2%), deities (17.0%), aliens (16.3%), creature-based entities like reptilian/insectoid beings (9.2%), mythological beings including "machine elves" (8.4%), and jesters (6.5%).
- Valence/Tone: The vast majority of encounters were overwhelmingly positive. 78% were described as benevolent/sacred, and most interactions were categorized as positive/benevolent (34.9%) or guide/companion-type (32.4%).
- Negative Tone: Only 16% were negatively judgmental, and 11% were perceived as malicious/demons/monsters.
